Dual Diagnosis Program

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

When my counselor mentioned I transfer to a dual diagnosis program from a drug and alcohol program I got scared. Then he explained that the drug and alcohol program did not have the capacity to meet my psychiatric needs. That a dual diagnosis program could treat my drug, alcohol and psychiatric problems. So off I went to a dual diagnosis program.

Although I felt so sick to be this sick, he was right. the dual diagnosis program focused right in on my problem and treated me with medication and comfort. Interesting enough the dual diagnosis program was also able to provide me with another perspective than was the drug and alcohol program. I am grateful to Lakeview for its dual diagnosis program.

Holistic Drug Rehab

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

You can find a holistic drug rehab almost anywhere with a multitude of services. The one thing most holistic drug rehabs do not have are dual diagnosis services. The holistic drug rehabs say they treat the mind, but in fact in many cases that does not neccessarily include psychiatric disorders.

Psychiatric disorders can not be treated with vitamins. The holistic drug rehab must have a psychiatrist on staff inorder to effectively treat the dual diagnosis. After the physician makes his diagnosis and begins treatment, then they holistic drug rehab can begin to administer or implement the holistic services they have.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment Needed

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

I gew up in Texas, Houston Texas to be precise and after 18 years of living in Houston, moved up to Dallas. Dallas was a better fit for me, but some strange things began to happen to me when I lived there. I became depressed out of nowhere and my soltuion was to turn to cocaine for the energy boost. Before I knew it I was traveling back and froth from Dallas to Houston to buy and sell cocaine. It was not long after that I saw a doctor who said I needed I needed dual diagnosis treatment. He explained that dual diagnosistreatment would treat my cocaine addiction and depression. While I knew I wanted depression treatment, I wan’t sure about treatment for my cocaine addiction.

After I ended up in a jail in Dallas Texas I relented and went in for dual diagnosis treatment.Dual diagnosis treatment was very hard and even harder to get adjusted to medicatin, but I did. After completing my dual diagnosis treatment my life fell back into place and I moved back to Houston, Texas. I felt it was a safer place to continue my recovery.
