Dual Diagnosis Program Specialty LGBT Rehab Program
Like going to a dual diagnosis progarm is not bad enough, that means having a drug addiction and psychiatric disorder, but I was gay too. Think that might have added to my depression? Well things got worse when in the dual diagnosis program I found I was HIV positive also. No doubt this was a direct result of my high risk behavior in the club scene.
I have to say, my experience in the dual diagnosis program was great. The staff in the dual diagnosis program provided me great dual diagnosis treatment. I learned about my depression, drug addiction and dealt with my issues surrounding being gay and of course began treatment for my HIV. Sometimes I think what helped the most in the dual diagnosis treatment program was that other gay men and women were there. By having other gay people to talk to it helpled me understand and accept being gay.
Also, when the medication started kicking in, it was as if the lightbulb went on and I could see again. Who would of thought there was a dual diagnosis program that also treated the LGBT and knew what they were doing. My LGBT borthers and sisters as I call them, thank Lakeview for starting Freedom Rings, gay and dual diagnosis treatment program.
